Greatland’S Telfer Targets New Ore Nearby
Telfer Is A Gold-Copper Mine In Wa, Around 485km South-East Of Port Hedland. The Site Already Has A Mill/Processing Plant, Which Is The Key Advantage — It Can Handle Ore Without Needing A Brand-New Facility.
What Changed This Week?
Greatland Resources, Which Took Over Telfer In December 2024, Has Signed A New Joint Venture Called “Telfer South” With Rincon. The Goal Is Simple: Hunt For More Ore Close To The Existing Operation.
What’S The Plan?
Under The Deal, The Partners Plan To Spend $2 Million Over Three Years On Exploration In The Nearby Ground. If They Find A Deposit That Can Be Mined, Any Ore Could Be Trucked Back And Processed Through Telfer’S Existing Plant.
Why It Matters
For Miners, Finding Ore Near An Operating Plant Can Be A Big Win — It Can Potentially Extend Production And Make Better Use Of The Infrastructure That’S Already There, Rather Than Building New Processing From Scratch.
