#NASDAQ:NVDA I renewed cooling paste & pads on a 2080 Super - This are the results - 2019 I bought a 2080 Super used from Ebay, and so it had been about 4 years in service in total. It is air fan cooled.

Before renewing all cooling paste/pads, the GPU overheated in ... See More use and thus it limited the clock to under 1700 Mhz and the only way to keep the GPU below 82 degrees was to set the power limit to 82%. Everything above that would make the temps rise to 87 degrees, no matter the fan speed. Not even an oben side panel would help.

I got some new pads and Paste from Thermal Grizzly and for the first time ever changed the original cooling materials.

The Card now runs with 100% power at 1920 Mhz and stable 74 degrees, with comparatively super silent fans. The performance is thus 3-5% faster then it was before.

Although this might be old news to all the experienced users here, I wanted to leave this short experience summary/ PSA. The process was extremely easy. The only tool needed is a screw driver. The youtube tutorials help as well. If your GPU is 3 years or older, I can only recommend to think about renewing the cooling grease/pads.
