Allkem Limited Achieves First Production at Olaroz Stage 2 Lithium Facility

Allkem Limited (ASX|TSX: AKE), a leading lithium producer, is pleased to announce that Stage 2 of the Olaroz Lithium Facility has achieved first production. Wet lithium carbonate cake has been produced at the filter presses, marking a significant milestone for the company.

Key Points:

The Olaroz Stage 2 development has a nameplate capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year of technical grade lithium carbonate.

The Olaroz Lithium Facility is managed by Sales de Jujuy SA, a joint venture between Allkem, Toyota Tsusho Corporation (“TTC”), and JEMSE.

With the first production achieved and mechanical completion at 99. 5% completion, the company will focus on completing the commissioning process.

The commissioning process will involve progressively increasing production volumes and product quality over a 12-18 month ramp up period.

Upon completion, the combined Olaroz Stage 1 and Stage 2 infrastructure will have a nameplate capacity of approximately 42,500 tonnes per year of lithium carbonate.
The Olaroz Stage 2 project involved the construction of additional brine wells, evaporation ponds, lime plants, and other services.

The facility is intended to supply up to 9,500 tonnes per year of technical grade lithium carbonate feedstock to Allkem's Naraha lithium hydroxide plant, which is a joint venture between Allkem and TTC.
