Askari Expands Strategic Footprint at Uis Lithium Project

Askari Metals Limited (ASX: AS2), a battery metals focused explorer and developer, has announced the expansion of its strategic footprint at the Uis Lithium Project in Namibia, Africa.

The company has acquired two additional exploration licences (EPL 8535 and EPL 8536), covering a combined area of 194. 59 km2, bringing the total area of the Uis Lithium Project to 308. 12 km2. This region is renowned for hosting more than 120 mapped pegmatites, many of which have been historically mined for tin and semi-precious stones.

The acquisition of these new licences significantly enhances Askari's exposure to the highly prospective Uis pegmatite field, situated less than 5 km from Andrada Mining Ltd's (LSE: ATM) operating Uis Mine. The Uis Mine boasts a JORC (2012) Mineral Resource of 81 Mt @ 0.

Recently, Askari Metals successfully completed its maiden RC exploration drilling campaign at the Uis Lithium Project. The campaign, which involved drilling across 11 priority targets, covered a total distance of 3,500 m.

The primary objectives of the drilling program were twofold: to assess the grade and continuity of lithium mineralization within the pegmatites and to identify new zones of mineralization. The company anticipates receiving the assay results in early 2023. These results will serve as a crucial basis for planning further exploration activities at the Uis Lithium Project.
