This makes it one of the most advanced lithium projects in Australia.
The two new EGMs, Pierre Malan and Paul Benjamin, will join the existing leadership team of CEO Gareth Manderson, CFO Carla Balanco, and COO Lyle Halliday. Mr. Malan will serve as the EGM of Development and Exploration, leveraging his 30+ years of experience in leading operations and developing projects in Australia and abroad. His expertise will focus on Core's exploration portfolio potential and defining the best strategy for asset development.
Mr. Benjamin will assume the role of EGM of Commercial and Marketing, drawing upon his extensive background in managing commercial and strategic relationships within the rechargeable battery materials industry. He will be responsible for maximising the value of Core's lithium products and developing the company's strategy in the broader lithium value chain.
As part of Core Lithium's growth plans, the company has registered its new head office in Perth. The finalisation of the relocation is expected by mid-2023, pending COVID-19 restrictions. The move to Perth will grant Core Lithium access to a larger pool of talent, expertise, and capital. Proximity to customers and suppliers in Asia will also enhance operational efficiency. Despite the new head office in Perth, the company remains committed to maintaining a strong presence in Darwin and Adelaide to support operations at the Finniss project.
Gareth Manderson, CEO of Core Lithium, expressed his excitement about the new executive appointments, stating that they complete a meticulous 10-month recruitment process. The appointments ensure that the company has the necessary skillsets and capabilities to drive growth and successfully transition from a developer to a producer. Manderson further emphasized that the decision to relocate to Perth aligns with Core Lithium's strategic vision, reflecting its ambition to become a leading supplier of high-quality lithium products in the global market.
As Core Lithium continues to make progress towards spodumene concentrate shipments from the Finniss project later this year, these recent developments position the company for success in the expanding lithium market.
