Hillgrove Resources Limited (ASX: HGO) has announced positive drilling results from its Kanmantoo Mine Lease in South Australia, indicating the extension of copper-gold (CU-AU) zones in the South Hub. The recent drilling efforts focused on the Emily Star lode system, revealing strongly mineralised alteration zones with higher-grade CU-AU breccia zones.

Four drill holes were completed at Emily Star, demonstrating wide zones of mineralization and the presence of higher-grade CU-AU zones. The highlights of the drill results include intercepts such as:

KTDD239: 71. 7m @ 0. 89% Cu, including 9. 7m @ 1.

29% Cu and 0. 14 g/t Au, as well as 4. 0m @ 2. 9% Cu and 0. 61 g/t Au.

KTDD240: 68. 75m @ 0. 9% Cu, including 4. 8m @ 1. 39% Cu and 0. 09 g/t Au, as well as 35. 1m @ 1. 29% Cu and 0. 08 g/t Au.

KTDD241: 4. 3m @ 1. 31% Cu and 0. 03 g/t Au.

These results indicate the presence of wide zones of mineralization within the Emily Star CU-AU system, similar to the Kavanagh lode system, which is the focus of the Stage 1 Kanmantoo Underground development. The drilling also highlights the potential for expanding the mine life and annual copper production at Kanmantoo through underground development at Emily Star as part of a broader South Hub expansion.

With the Kanmantoo Underground project fully funded and on track for first copper production in early 2024, these drilling results provide further evidence of the growth potential at the site. Additional drilling is planned to assess the mining potential of the South Hub area.

The success of the drilling campaign at Emily Star confirms the continuity of copper mineralization below the previous open pit and suggests further potential along strike and down plunge. Lachlan Wallace, CEO and Managing Director of Hillgrove Resources, expressed optimism about the drilling results, stating that they highlight the growth potential beyond the initial mine plan.

Hillgrove Resources has maintained a strong exploration track record at Kanmantoo, with 158 mineralised intersections from 136 drill holes since the commencement of drilling for underground resources in 2019. Each drilling program has contributed to a significant increase in the mineral resource estimate, indicating the potential for expanding the mine life and annual copper production profile.

The recent drilling results provide confidence in the continued expansion of the mineralization footprint around the Stage 1 underground development, offering opportunities for future growth at the Kanmantoo Mine Lease.
