Exciting Update: Mukuyu-2 Wireline Logging Shows Promise for Invictus Energy Limited
Why Mukuyu-2 Wireline Logging is Important for Invictus Energy Limited?
Progress Update Highlights
Gas and liquid hydrocarbons observed during initial fluid sample clean-up Fluid sampling program to be conducted on drill pipe Results anticipated in the next 3-5 days to complete the program
Invictus Energy Limited is excited to share an update on the Mukuyu-2 well at its Cabora Bassa Project in Zimbabwe, which it owns and operates at an 80% stake.
According to Managing Director Scott Macmillan, the initial signs from the fluid sampling program in the Upper Angwa region are promising. During the sample clean-up, gas and liquid hydrocarbons, specifically condensate/oil, were observed. This indicates the presence of moveable hydrocarbons in the area.
Macmillan expresses his encouragement at the evidence of moveable hydrocarbons during the initial clean-up. As a result, the company has decided to complete the program on drill pipe.
However, there has been a slight delay due to the wireline cable sticking to the borehole wall during the clean-up process.

To address this issue, the Tough Logging Conditions (TLC) setup will be used to convey the sampling tools on drill pipe. This precaution is taken to minimize the risk of the tools getting stuck during the sampling operation and retrieval to the surface.
Despite the delay, this minor setback ensures a conservative approach is taken to minimize risks. The company values the successful completion of the sampling program, which would enable them to declare a discovery.
The fluid sampling program is expected to be completed in the next several days, depending on the logging conditions and number of fluid sampling stations.
The progress update was shared on November 9, 2023.
