Exploration Breakthrough: Anson Resources Uncovers Vast Pegmatites in Western Australia's Hooley Well Project
Anson Resources Ltd (ASX: ASN) has announced a new discovery in the mid-west region of Western Australia that has the potential to be a game-changer in the mineral exploration industry. The company conducted a recent reconnaissance sampling program at Hooley Well Project and identified widespread areas of pegmatites at the Mt Erong Prospect, a first-of-its-kind discovery in the area.
The project is situated approximately 700km northeast of Perth, in the north-western extent of the highly prospective Yilgarn Craton. During the program, Anson’s geological field team identified large expanses of outcropping pegmatites at the Mt Erong Prospect, measuring approximately 12. 5km2 - around 5km x 2. 5km.
Implications of Pegmatites discovery
While the recent discovery is highly encouraging, the presence of pegmatites does not confirm the presence of lithium or rare earth elements, which can only be confirmed by assaying.

Nevertheless, if these minerals are present, this could lead to an abundance of new opportunities for Anson in the exploration industry.
The pegmatite outcrops have been identified over a significant area of approximately 5km x 2. 5km, with the tenement also hosting a large radiometric signature similar to Krakatoa Resources’ large REE JORC Resource situated to the east of the Hooley Well Project.
The Hooley Well Project has not been subject to any previous lithium-targeted exploration, which provides significant exploration upside potential for Anson in its planned future fieldwork programs at Mt Erong. The Company plans an extensive reconnaissance mapping, soil/rock and stream sampling program in the current quarter as a next step towards unlocking the Project’s exploration potential.
Conclusion
Anson Resources Ltd's recent discovery of widespread pegmatites in Western Australia has caused a stir in the mineral exploration industry. Although the presence of pegmatites does not confirm the presence of lithium or rare earth elements, it presents exciting exploration upside for Anson Resources Ltd. The company intends to conduct further fieldwork programs to unlock the potential of the Hooley Well Project, which holds enormous promise for the company in the future.
