Galan Lithium Limited (ASX: GLN) has marked significant strides in the construction activities at the Hombre Muerto West (HMW) Phase 1 lithium brine project, aimed at establishing lithium chloride production by the first half of 2025. Advancing Construction Milestones:
Pond 1 construction, a pivotal component of the project, is notably making strides with an impressive 65% completion rate. Liners crucial for the construction process have arrived on-site, and their installation is scheduled to commence later in December 2023. Expectations are set for the fill of Pond 1 in Q1, 2024, with the evaporation process scheduled to kick off during the upcoming summer season.
Preparation for Future Phases:
Simultaneously, groundwork for Ponds 2 and 3 is underway, including the ongoing process of topsoil removal, signifying the proactive stance of Galan in preparing for future project phases. The development of new camp and essential infrastructure is also progressing smoothly, with all final modules substantially in place.

Technical Due Diligence and Management Outlook:
Furthermore, Glencore's technical due diligence has commenced, indicating an important stage of assessment and validation for the project.
Juan Pablo (JP) Vargas de la Vega, Galan's Managing Director, expressed satisfaction and optimism during his visit to the site this week. He commended the remarkable progress made on-site, highlighting the dedication and proficiency exhibited by the project team. Vargas de la Vega emphasized the expertise and cohesion within the team, essential for constructing the ponds and infrastructure needed to accomplish the project's objectives.

"We are sharply focused on our objective to commence brine evaporation this summer," said Vargas de la Vega. He conveyed Galan's unwavering enthusiasm and confidence in the development of Phase 1 HMW, reaffirming the company's commitment to achieving the targeted first production milestone in the first half of 2025.
