Galan Lithium Granted Full HMW Phase 1 Construction Permits in Argentina
Late yesterday, Argentina time, Galan Lithium Limited (ASX: GLN) announced that it has been granted full Phase 1 construction permits for its Hombre Muerto West (HMW) lithium brine project. The permits cover the construction of the necessary infrastructure and production facilities, including ponds, a plant, an onsite laboratory, a 200-man camp, and power supply. Additionally, the permits include approval for the construction of six additional production wells.
Highest Grade Lithium Brine Deposit
The HMW lithium brine deposit is known for its high grade and low impurity levels, making it one of the most promising sources of lithium in Argentina. The company's initial Phase 1 focuses on the production of a lithium chloride concentrate, with a target production rate of 5. 4ktpa LCE.

Galan Lithium is on track to deliver lithium chloride production in the first half of 2025.

The preparation works, engineering, and long lead orders are progressing well. The company is also in the final stages of appointing a main contractor for the project.
Furthermore, Galan Lithium is currently working on the Phase 2 Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), which is scheduled to be released in September 2023. The Phase 2 DFS will address a full production rate of 20ktpa LCE.
