New Gold Projects Double GBR’s Meekatharra Foodprint: Great Boulder Resources Expands Frontiers in Western Australia

Great Boulder Resources (ASX: GBR) has taken a significant leap in fortifying its presence in the gold-rich terrains of Meekatharra, Western Australia, with the recent signing of a Heads of Agreement to acquire 75% ownership of Castle Minerals’ Polelle and Wanganui Gold Projects. This strategic move effectively doubles GBR's footprint in the Meekatharra region to a vast expanse of 384km2.

Unveiling Untapped Gold Potential

The newly acquired Polelle Project, strategically situated south of GBR’s flagship Side Well Gold Project, shares a similar geological and structural setting. Notably, it stands a mere 7km from Westgold's Bluebird mill, establishing a promising proximity to existing mining infrastructure. Castle Minerals’ prior groundwork has identified unexplored targets that beckon immediate exploration, aligning with GBR's vision of unearthing untapped gold potential in the region.

Of significant interest is the Wanganui Project, where historical mining activities have left high-grade footprints yet to be thoroughly explored. The area boasts compelling high-grade intersections from previous drilling activities, including:

Strategic Vision and Exploration Plans

Andrew Paterson, Great Boulder’s Managing Director, expressed excitement over the immense potential embedded in these newly acquired projects. Paterson highlighted the geological similarity between Polelle and Side Well, emphasizing Castle Minerals' identification of promising targets yet to be drilled.

“This deal aligns perfectly with our strategy of acquiring projects with significant geological promise. Our rapport with the Yugunga Nya People, established through a new cultural heritage and land access agreement, assures us of efficient and effective exploration as we expand our project area,” Paterson added.

As part of the immediate exploration plans, the final heritage report, expected imminently, is a key catalyst for commencing AC drilling on new targets within the Ironbark corridor. The initial target, Saltbush, is slated for exploration, representing the culmination of GBR’s efforts for the year.
