GreenTech Metals Discovers Lithium-Bearing Pegmatites at West Pilbara Joint Venture
GreenTech Metals Limited (ASX: GRE), an exploration and development company specialising in copper and nickel projects in Western Australia's West Pilbara region, has identified lithium-bearing pegmatites at its West Pilbara Joint Venture (JV) project with Venturex Resources Limited (ASX: VXR).
Covering an expansive area of 1,200 square kilometres, the West Pilbara JV project encompasses multiple copper and nickel prospects, with potential for lithium, tantalum, and gold mineralization. GreenTech has the right to earn up to a 75% interest in the project within four years by investing AUD 6 million.
In a recent development, GreenTech completed a comprehensive airborne magnetic survey over the project area, revealing several magnetic anomalies that may indicate the presence of pegmatites. Pegmatites are coarse-grained igneous rocks known to contain lithium-bearing minerals like spodumene, lepidolite, and petalite.
To further confirm the existence of pegmatites, GreenTech conducted a reconnaissance field visit to the project area, successfully identifying pegmatites at various locations. Rock chip samples collected from these pegmatites returned lithium values of up to 0.

23% Li2O, along with tantalum, niobium, and rubidium anomalies. Notably, these pegmatites are associated with a regional fault zone extending over 20 kilometres within the project area.
GreenTech intends to continue exploring these pegmatites by conducting geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and drilling to assess their potential in hosting economically viable lithium deposits. The discovery of these pegmatites represents an exciting new exploration target within the West Pilbara JV project, further enhancing GreenTech's diverse portfolio of copper and nickel assets.
