Talga Group Ltd (ASX:TLG), a front-runner in sustainable battery material development, has published its quarterly activities review for the period ending 31 December 2023. The company, known for its diverse range of projects and products, is advancing in natural graphite anode material, silicon anode additives, and other battery-related materials.

The Vittangi Anode Project

The Vittangi Anode Project, Talga's commercial venture, is a fully integrated mine and refinery designed to produce 19,500 tonnes per year of Talnode®-C. This natural graphite anode material is manufactured using renewable energy, ensuring a low emissions footprint.

Commercial and Project Development

Talga secured a SEK210 million (~AU$31 million) environmental bond facility for the Vittangi Anode Project from Atradius. This facility complements the project financing from the European Investment Bank and other financial institutions.

Site Preparation and Partnerships

The company has completed stage one groundworks at the Luleå Industrial Park site.

Vittangi Resource Update

SLR Consulting Limited increased the Vittangi Graphite Project Global Mineral Resource cut-off grade, resulting in an updated Mineral Resource estimate of 35. 0Mt at 23. 8%Cg.

Discovering New Graphite

Talga discovered significant zones of mineralisation in its Vittangi nr 6 exploration permit, with downhole intercepts including 212m at 4. 5% graphite.

Aero Lithium Project Update

Talga has completed exploration activities at the Aero Project, identifying significant lithium-bearing pegmatites. The Aero Project area has been expanded from 134km2 to 271km2.

Product and Technology Development

Talga entered a research agreement with Swedish EV maker Polestar to develop anode material for the Polestar 0 project. This partnership underscores Talga's commitment to material research and development.

Market Update and Global EV Sales

Talga completed an oversubscribed Share Purchase Plan, raising A$19. 0 million for the Vittangi Anode Project and other development activities.
