Structural Additives: The key to maximum silicon anode performance. " The presentation shed light on innovative strategies for optimizing battery anodes by minimizing inactive materials, ultimately enhancing both performance and cost-efficiency. AnteoTech's proprietary binder additive, Anteo X™, played a central role in these optimization strategies.

The presentation also featured a Case Study, presenting new technical data related to silicon-carbon composite anode optimization. This Case Study emanated from a project undertaken by AnteoTech in mid-2023 for a potential customer, aiming to reduce materials input costs and enhance anode performance, ultimately reducing the cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for batteries.

Project Outcomes and Achievements

AnteoTech's optimization efforts yielded impressive results:

A remarkable 10% increase in capacity retention.

A substantial 15-fold reduction in the usage of Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT) in the anode configuration.

The reduction in the use of CNT represents a significant cost-saving opportunity for companies utilizing CNT in lithium-ion batteries. Applying the optimized formulation to an electric vehicle battery, the estimated cost savings exceed US$500 per anode.

Furthermore, the project emphasized the effectiveness of Anteo X™ and Carbon Nano Tubes as structural additives, forming networks and providing connectivity within the anode formulation. This synergy enables further optimization of Carbon Nano Tubes, enhancing the overall performance of lithium-ion batteries.

CEO's Perspective

David Radford, CEO of AnteoTech, expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of the project and the opportunity to present these advancements at the industry event. He highlighted the importance of such results in demonstrating AnteoTech's capabilities and expertise in the silicon anode market.

Radford also mentioned ongoing discussions with various lithium-ion battery parties, aligning with the company's focus on establishing commercial partnerships in the clean energy sector.

Ultra High Silicon Anode Development

In parallel with these achievements, AnteoTech continues to validate the scale-up production of its proprietary Ultra High Silicon anode, which contains over 70% silicon. Internal testing has validated the Ultra High Silicon anode's durability, demonstrating 650 cycles with an 80% capacity retention.

About Anteo X™

Anteo X™, developed by AnteoTech's Clean Energy Technology division, is a proprietary cross-linker additive designed to reinforce battery binders in silicon-containing anodes. It enhances anode performance, leading to increased capacity, extended lifecycle, and superior mechanical properties. The use of Anteo X™ enables the cost-effective manufacturing of high-energy lithium-ion batteries, making them lighter and more compact.

AnteoTech's presentation and the new technical data shared at the 23rd Advanced Automotive Battery Conference mark significant achievements in the field of battery technology. The company's commitment to optimizing anode performance while reducing costs holds great promise for the clean energy industry.

As discussions with potential partners and ongoing developments in the silicon anode market continue, stakeholders in the battery manufacturing sector will be closely monitoring AnteoTech's progress and contributions to advancing lithium-ion battery technology.
