How Does Australian Mines Plan to Further Explore the Jequie and Resende Projects?
Australian Mines Limited Announces Promising Developments in Rare Earth and Lithium Projects
Strategic Advancements in Jequie and Resende Projects
Australian Mines Limited (ASX: AUZ), soon to be renamed EcoMetal Resources Limited, has announced significant advancements in its rare earth and lithium projects. The company's recent exploration activities at the Jequie Rare Earth Project in Bahia, Brazil, and the Resende Lithium Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, have yielded promising results.
Jequie Rare Earth Project: A Potential Rare Earth Treasure Trove
The Jequie Rare Earth Project, subject to acquisition terms as per a previous ASX release, has shown encouraging signs in its initial exploration phase. An airborne radiometric thorium anomaly spanning approximately 30km in length and up to 2. 5km in width has been identified within the project's licenses.
Key Geological Findings
The project site hosts thick, in-situ saprolite and saprolite clay profiles with potential for Ionic Adsorption Rare Earth Clay deposits and/or monazite sand deposits. Additionally, the presence of outcropping Leucogranite and Charnockite could either host primary Rare Earth Elements (REE) or be the source of secondary REE oxides in weathered saprolite clays.

Field Testing and Future Exploration
Field testing using a portable scintillometer returned positive readings for potential REE-bearing minerals in outcrop. CEO Andrew Nesbitt has expressed optimism about the project's potential and future exploration phases.
Resende Lithium Project: In the Heart of Brazil's Lithium Valley
Located in the globally recognized mining jurisdiction of Minas Gerais, the Resende Lithium Project comprises eight mineral right claims covering 13,314 hectares. The project is proximal to notable lithium producers and is believed to contain eastern extensions of geological structures responsible for forming mineralized pegmatites at nearby mines.
Untapped Potential
Despite no current or historical mineral resources, the Resende Lithium Project holds promise due to its location within a district known for various mineralized bodies. Several historically mapped pegmatites and tantalum occurrences within the exploration licenses have yet to be explored for lithium.
Commitment to Sustainable Mining Practices
Australian Mines Limited supports a vision of responsible mining that respects communities, provides safe workplaces, minimizes environmental harm, and leaves positive legacies. This commitment aligns with the company's advancements in sustainable rare earth and lithium extraction.
A Forward-Looking Approach
Australian Mines Limited's latest announcements regarding the Jequie Rare Earth and Resende Lithium Projects mark significant steps in exploring and developing valuable mineral resources in Brazil. With a forward-looking approach and commitment to sustainability, the company is poised to make substantial contributions to the rare earth and lithium markets.
