How Has Lake Resources' Further Drilling at the Flagship Kachi Project Expanded Lithium-Bearing Brine?

Lake Resources, the clean lithium developer, has recently conducted further drilling at its flagship Kachi lithium brine Project in Catamarca Province, Argentina. The results of this drilling program have revealed a significant expansion of the lithium-bearing brine, both horizontally and vertically. But what does this mean for Lake Resources and the future of the Kachi Project?

Confirmation of Scale and Quality

The ongoing drilling program at the Kachi Lithium Brine Project has continued to confirm the large scale and quality of the lithium-bearing brine. Deeper drilling at K23D40 has revealed that the lithium-bearing brine extends between 400 and 610 meters below the ground surface. This demonstrates the significant depth of the lithium-bearing brine reservoirs at the Kachi Project.

Extensive Lithium-Bearing Brines

Step out drilling has provided new insights into the extent of the lithium-bearing brines, showing that they are more extensive than previously understood. The results from drillhole K23D40 are particularly promising, with brines returning grades of 209-254 mg/L lithium over 322 meters.

The best results were obtained from 288 to 322 meters below ground surface, where the average lithium grades reached 254 mg/L. These findings indicate the presence of high-quality lithium in the project area.

Permeability and Sands Interception

The drilling program has also intercepted higher permeability sands and gravels, further enhancing the potential for lithium extraction. This indicates favorable conditions for the extraction and production of lithium from the brine reservoirs.

Support for Resource Updates and Feasibility Study

The data collected from drillhole K23D40 will play a crucial role in supporting planned resource updates and the development of hydrogeologic models. These models will simulate the extraction and injection wellfields as part of the Project's Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for Phase 1. The comprehensive analysis of the lithium-bearing brine will contribute to the accurate estimation of resources and the feasibility of the Project.

Positive Outlook for Lake Resources

Lake Resources is encouraged by the results of the further drilling at the Kachi Project. Michael Gabora, Director of Geology and Hydrogeology at Lake Resources, expressed excitement over the expansion of the known lithium brine extent. The drilling beyond 400 meters, up to over 600 meters, has revealed average lithium grades above 209 mg/L in all brine samples collected. This not only confirms the depth of the lithium brine at K23D40 but also suggests the potential for even more extensive lithium-bearing brines at greater depths.

The expansion of the lithium-bearing brine is a significant development for Lake Resources and the future of the Kachi Project. As the company continues its exploration and development activities, the expanded resource potential will contribute to Lake Resources' position as a leading clean lithium producer.
