Blakala Pegmatites Expand with Successful First Stage Drilling Program

First Lithium Ltd ("FL1"), a key player in the lithium mining sector, has announced the successful completion of its first-stage drilling program at the Blakala prospect, located in the Gouna permit, Mali. This program has led to significant discoveries and expansions in the known pegmatite bodies, indicating a promising future for the company in lithium mining.

World-Class Lithium Intercepts at Blakala: Completion of Stage One Drilling

FL1 successfully completed approximately 7,000 meters of drilling, yielding world-class lithium intercepts, including an impressive 111 meters at 1. 57% Li2O. This completion encompassed 14 diamond drillholes (BDFS33 to BDFS46) and 7 Reverse Circulation (RC) pre-collar holes finished by diamond drilling tails (BRCD01 to BRCD07).

Expansion of Eastern Pegmatite Body

The drilling program extended the strike of the Eastern pegmatite body both to the North and South. In the North, multiple mineralized pegmatite intersections totaling 43.

74 meters were observed, remaining open along strike and depth from holes BDFS39, BDFS41, BDFS43, and BDFS46. To the South, the strike extension was confirmed by hole BDFS45, with multiple intersections totaling 34. 36 meters.

Main Pegmatite's Depth Extension and Continued Exploration

The Second Series holes (BRCD01 to BRCD07) played a crucial role in identifying mineralization in the Main Pegmatite at increased depths. These holes intersected the Main Pegmatite body beneath the First Phase drill holes, with mineralized intersections reaching up to 40. 37 meters.

Results from Recent Drilling

The recent drilling revealed continuous and significant spodumene mineralization, further supporting the visual estimates reported at the project. An additional 3,091. 00 meters were drilled in these 21 holes, bringing the total drilling for the stage one program to 7,099. 20 meters.

Anticipation of a Maiden JORC Resource

A maiden JORC resource based on the phase 1 drilling is expected in the second quarter of 2024. This anticipation has fueled excitement around the potential of the Blakala prospect.

Planning for an Expanded Drilling Program: Building on the Maiden JORC Resource

An expanded drilling program at Blakala is currently being planned and will commence shortly. The aim is to build on the maiden JORC resource, with an updated resource planned before the end of the calendar year 2024.

Extension in All Directions and Depth

The expanded program will utilize up to 5 diamond and RC rigs to extend the identification of the pegmatite, as it remains open in all directions and at depth.

The completion of the stage one drilling program at Blakala by FL1 marks a significant milestone in the exploration of lithium resources. The impressive results from the drilling program, expanding the known pegmatite bodies both in strike and depth, demonstrate the potential for significant lithium deposits at the Blakala prospect. With the anticipation of a maiden JORC resource and the planned expansion of the drilling program, FL1 is well-positioned to establish itself as a significant player in the global lithium market.
