I transferred my FSD yesterday - I took delivery of a new Model Y yesterday and transferred my FSD from my old Model 3 to my new Model Y.
Let me clear a myth I’ve been seeing thrown around.
1. You can reject the vehicle if you don’t like it and you WILL NOT loose your FSD on your old car until you press “Accept Delivery” on the App
Many people were saying Tesla gives you the lowest quality cars when transferring FSD because they take away FSD a week before you take delivery. That isn’t true.
I had FSD on my Model 3 up until the moment I pressed “Accept Delivery” on the Model Y. You have ample time to inspect the vehicle exterior and interior before pressing “Accept Delivery”.
Once press “Accept Delivery” and get in your new car then it will take a couple minutes but the new car will restart itsself and then FSD hardware will be enabled in the new car and removed from old car. You can even check your specs on both the vehicles in the App to verify this.
Note: you MUST have both cars in your Tesla app for the FSD to transfer.
It was a very easy process and unlike the delivery of my Model 3 (4 years ago) I got a perfect quality Model Y with no scratches or panel gaps.
Good luck. Tesla Inc.

Interesting, I traded in my 2020MY for a 2023 on August 1st, and my 2020 rebooted itself and removed FSD a few days before my pickup day, consistent with the terms and conditions I signed. Sounds like they streamlined the process now, good to know
