Harare, Zimbabwe - Invictus Energy Ltd, an independent oil and gas exploration company specialising in high-impact energy resources in sub-Saharan Africa, is set to forge ahead with their appraisal well construction in the Cabora Bassa Basin. The company's chosen location for the Mukuyu-2 well has been finalised, and wellpad construction has already commenced, with drilling expected to commence in the third quarter of CY232.

Invictus Energy's asset portfolio boasts an impressive 360,000 hectares within the highly prospective Cabora Bassa Basin in Zimbabwe. Within this vast expanse, the company's focus lies on two key prospects - Mukuyu and the multiple Basin Margin prospects - held under SG 4571 and EPOs 1848/49 respectively.

The long-awaited selection of the Mukuyu-2 appraisal well's location marks a crucial step forward in Invictus Energy's exploration efforts. Positioned approximately 6. 8km northeast from Mukuyu-1 and over 400m updip at the primary Upper Angwa target, the Mukuyu-2 well holds tremendous potential for substantiating a significant discovery, should it prove successful.

By strategically locating the Mukuyu-2 well, Invictus Energy aims to assess the full extent of the Upper Angwa target's hydrocarbon potential. The company recognises the importance of unlocking the value of this purposefully selected site, which promises to play a pivotal role in further delineating the resource potential within the Cabora Bassa Basin.

With wellpad construction already underway, Invictus Energy remains on track to initiate drilling in the third quarter of CY232. The timeline for spudding the Mukuyu-2 well represents a significant milestone for the company and augments the excitement surrounding the prospective energy resources concealed within sub-Saharan Africa.

Invictus Energy's commitment to high-impact exploration and their focus on the Cabora Bassa Basin underscore their dedication to unlocking the region's untapped energy potential. As the appraisal well progresses, Invictus Energy anticipates contributing to Zimbabwe's growing energy sector and delivering substantial value to its shareholders.

There’s this idea floating around that throwing enough cash at Intel will suddenly turn them into the next TSMC. But semiconductor manufacturing isn’t something you can rush, it’s a complex, slow-moving process that takes years of precision and experience.

Intel could recover some ground eventually, but framing them as the savior of American chipmaking feels more like a political talking point than a practical reality.
