Leo Lithium Awards Goulamina Mining Services Contract to Specialist West African Operator, Corica Mali

Leo Lithium Limited (ASX: LLL), a leading lithium mining company, has announced the award of a mining services contract for its Goulamina Lithium Project in Mali. The contract, valued at approximately $US348 million (~$A520 million), has been awarded to Corica Mali, a subsidiary of Corica Mining Services (Corica), a specialist operator with extensive experience in West African countries including Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, and Burkina Faso.

Following a competitive tender process and thorough due diligence, which considered factors such as safety, experience, capability, equipment availability, and cost, Corica Mali emerged as the selected contractor. The contract includes a six-month period of pre-production activities at Goulamina, followed by a fixed five-year term for mining services.

The scope of the contract encompasses various crucial mining services, including grade control, drill and blast, load and haul, and plant ore feed services. Over the contract term, the target is to move between 18 million to 20 million tonnes of material per annum. Corica Mali has already mobilised to the site under an early works contract and has commenced activities such as pre-stripping and Direct Shipped Ore (DSO) mining and crushing services.

Corica Mali, backed by over 20 years of successful operations in the region, currently employs over 2,000 people and provides large-scale mining services to several prominent ASX and TSX listed mining companies. The company operates across seven mining operations in Mali, as well as neighbouring countries Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
