Byrnecut's Award Highlights its Demonstrable Capability

The appointment of Byrnecut is a significant milestone for the Kathleen Valley Project, boasting a Mineral Resource Estimate of 156 Mt at 1. 4% Li2O and 130ppm Ta2O5. Byrnecut's demonstrable record and capabilities across the entire underground mining value chain at the size and scale required for this project played a critical role in its success during the tender process.

Comprehensive Contract Details

The fixed and variable contract awarded to Byrnecut is valued at approximately A$1 billion over four years and is the largest to be awarded by Liontown. It provides the full suite of mining services for the company's underground operations and supports the initial plant throughput capacity of 3 Mtpa.

The evaluation process also included factors such as Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ), innovation, community engagement, and performance history.

Furthermore, Byrnecut has committed to working in collaboration with the Tjiwarl Traditional Owners to increase Indigenous participation in mining. Byrnecut will mobilise to the site throughout the September quarter, with first development expected to commence in the December quarter. The company will commit A$125 million dollars to procure new plant and equipment to execute the works.

With the awarding of the Underground Mining Services to Byrnecut, Liontown demonstrates its continued commitment to the success and development of the Kathleen Valley Lithium Project.
