Milestone Achieved: Lynas Rare Earths' Kalgoorlie Facility Marks Historic First Feed On"
Lynas Rare Earths Ltd Reaches Crucial Milestone with Kalgoorlie Facility's First Feed On
Lynas Rare Earths (ASX: LYC, OTC: LYSDY) has achieved a pivotal moment with the commencement of the first feed of material from Mt Weld into the Kalgoorlie Rare Earths Processing Facility. This event marks a substantial leap from the commissioning phase to the initiation of production and the subsequent ramp-up of operations at the facility.
Operational Transition and Regulatory Updates
Since the announcement on 24 October 2023, Lynas Malaysia received a variation in its operating license, allowing the continuous importation and processing of Lanthanide Concentrate from Lynas’ Mt Weld mine. Despite the current shutdown of the Lynas Malaysia plant for enhancements in downstream processing capacity, production is slated to recommence by January 2024.
