Walyering Gas Field Achieves Production Milestone and Secures Key Agreement with Alinta Energy

January 3, 2024 – Strike Energy Limited (ASX: STX), an emerging leader in the Australian energy sector, has announced a significant update regarding its Walyering gas field, marking a pivotal moment in its production and marketing strategy.

Alinta Energy Gas Sales Agreement: A Strategic Move

Strike Energy has successfully executed a firm 100% take or pay gas sales agreement with Alinta Energy WA Pty Ltd. This agreement, set to commence in February 2024, will see a total of 3. 4 petajoules (PJ) of gas delivered into the Parmelia Gas Pipeline over approximately two years.

Walyering Gas Field: Reaching Nameplate Capacity

The Walyering gas field, wholly owned and operated by Strike Energy under the production licence L23, reached its nameplate capacity of 33 terajoules per day (TJ/d) and 265 barrels per day (bbls/d) of condensate as of December 24, 2023. This milestone represents a significant achievement in the field's operational capabilities.

Overcoming Pipeline Maintenance Challenges

Despite several periods of downstream maintenance on the Parmelia Gas Pipeline, which had previously limited deliveries, Strike Energy has managed to maintain consistent performance from the Walyering gas field.

The field's upstream performance has met expectations, with all reservoirs now fully operational.

Integrated Project Delivery and Future Plans

Strike Energy's success at Walyering is a testament to its proficiency in integrated project delivery. The company plans to apply these in-house capabilities to other projects, such as the 100% owned Ocean Hill wet-gas discovery, following its successful appraisal.

Managing Director's Vision for Growth

Stuart Nicholls, Strike’s Managing Director & CEO, emphasized the significance of reaching nameplate capacity within 90 days of the start-up. This achievement not only demonstrates the field's operational stability but also paves the way for an increase in gas marketing activities, starting with the newly secured agreement with Alinta Energy.
