What Galan Lithium's Pumping Records Mean for the HMW and Catalina Projects?
Galan Lithium Limited has shared an update on its Hombre Muerto West (HMW) lithium brine project in Catamarca Province, Argentina. The company reported record-breaking results from the fourth long-term pumping test, with a mean grade of 981mg/L, the highest reported grade from a production well in the Hombre Muerto Salar. The test pit also confirmed the sound ground for pond construction for Phase 1 of the project. Galan has successfully constructed all six phase 1 brine production wells and has confirmed impressive HMW grades and flow rates with four long-term pumping tests.
Exploration Drilling Success and Other Updates
The company has also found significant success with exploration drilling in the newly consolidated Catalina area, where the first drilling has confirmed the continuity of the highly fractured domain at 300 metres deep, remaining open for further exploration. Moreover, a 72-hour airlift test running at 6 L/s confirmed huge permeability potential, with previous test averages of only 1-3L/s.
Galan is currently in the midst of third-party off-take and other strategic discussions, and it is still on track to complete Phase 2 DFS in September 2023.
