What Are the Lithium Results from First Lithium's Sampling at Blakala Prospect?
First Lithium Limited's Promising Outcomes at Blakala Prospect
First Lithium Limited (ASX: FL1), a key player in lithium exploration, has reported significant analytical results from its ongoing channel sampling and drilling programs at the Blakala Prospect in Mali. The company's latest findings are contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of the prospect's potential.
High-Grade Lithium Discoveries at Blakala
The recent channel sampling results have brought to light the presence of high-grade lithium oxide (Li₂O) in the Eastern and Western Pegmatite bodies at Blakala.
Key Results
Eastern Pegmatite: Channel sample BCH06 yielded 1. 94% Li₂O over a 19. 0m stretch. Western Pegmatite: Channel sample BCH05 showed 1.

87% Li₂O over 18. 0m. Main Pegmatite: Sample BCH03 recorded 1. 90% Li₂O over 22. 0m.
These results have established the Eastern and Western Pegmatites as high-grade spodumene mineralized targets. Notably, almost a third of the samples returned Li₂O grades exceeding 2%.
Ongoing Exploration Efforts
First Lithium's 6,000m drilling program at Blakala is in full swing. The program includes diamond core drilling on the Main, Western, and Eastern Pegmatites, complemented by outcrop channel sampling. The highest individual sample from the Eastern Pegmatite showed a remarkable 2. 73% Li₂O over 1. 00m.
Methodology and Results Analysis
The outcrop channel sampling involves continuous samples from the pegmatite outcrop, which is only slightly weathered.
The 87 channel samples analyzed returned high Li₂O grades, with 73. 5% of the samples delivering over 1. 5% Li₂O.
Technical and Quality Control Aspects
The channel samples are geologically logged for spodumene content before laboratory analysis. The sample preparation and analyses were conducted at ALS laboratories in Bamako and Johannesburg, respectively.
Quality Control procedures, including the use of blanks, standards, and duplicates, have been implemented to ensure accuracy.
Competent Person's Statement
The exploration results have been reviewed and compiled by Mr. Kobus Badenhorst, a Competent Person as defined in the 2012 Edition of the “Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves”. He is a Member of SACNASP and the South African Geological Society (GSSA), with over 25 years of experience in metallic and energy mineral exploration and development.
First Lithium Limited's recent results from the Blakala Prospect signal a significant step in their lithium exploration endeavors. With high-grade Li₂O findings in both Eastern and Western Pegmatites and ongoing extensive drilling programs, the company is well-positioned to advance its exploration and potentially increase its resource base. The management and Board of Directors have demonstrated a commitment to responsible and sustainable development in the lithium sector, aligning with the growing global demand for lithium.
