Who are Craig Jones and Peter Harold? CEO and Chair of Poseidon Nickel?
Poseidon Leadership Team: Peter Harold and Craig Jones at the Helm
Peter Harold, with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry and an AFAICD accreditation, brings over 30 years of corporate experience in the minerals industry to his role as Non-Executive Chair at Poseidon. His expertise spans process engineering, financing, marketing, business development, and general corporate activities.
Major Achievements as CEO/MD
During his 3.5 years as CEO/MD of Poseidon, Harold led significant projects including the delivery of the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) on the Windarra/Lancefield Gold tailings project and the Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) on the Black Swan Restart. Under his guidance, Poseidon discovered the Golden Swan high-grade nickel resource/reserve, undertook refurbishment works on the Black Swan processing plant and Silver Swan mine, and restarted exploration at Lake Johnston. His tenure also saw significant equity raised for funding activities and repayment of a US$17.5M debt to Black Mountain.

to Poseidon, Peter Harold co-founded Panoramic Resources with a $3 million IPO in 2001. He led the company through the financing and development of the Savannah Nickel Project and the acquisition and restart of the Lanfranchi Nickel Project, driving the company to a market capitalization of $1.2 billion in 2007. Harold's involvement in bringing the Savannah Project out of care and maintenance back into production showcases his extensive experience in base metal mining project feasibility studies, financings, developments, operations, and marketing.
Craig Jones: A CEO with Extensive Experience in Underground Hard-Rock Mining
Craig Jones, appointed CEO in 2023, is a seasoned mining executive and qualified mining engineer with over 28 years of experience in West Australian underground hard-rock mining within the resource industry. Before joining Poseidon, Jones played a pivotal role as Chief Operating Officer at Bellevue Gold, leading the feasibility study and contributing to the project's financing for the restart of the historical operation.
Diverse Expertise in Mining Operations
Prior to Bellevue Gold, Craig Jones held senior roles in operations, mine management, and business development for various mining companies, including Northern Star Resources. His contributions have been crucial in optimizing, integrating, and operating underground mines, upgrading mill infrastructure, and installing major capital projects at various operations.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the University of Ballarat and a WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate, underscoring his technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Intel could recover some ground eventually, but framing them as the savior of American chipmaking feels more like a political talking point than a practical reality.
