Invictus Energy Limited, an energy exploration company, has announced some exciting findings from its recent mudgas analysis program at the Cabora Bassa Project in Zimbabwe. The program has reaffirmed the presence of light oil, wet gas, condensate, and even helium in the Mukuyu-1 area. Additionally, the analysis of sidewall cores has indicated the presence of light oil and gas condensate, further supporting the mudgas results.

The company has also discovered organic shales in the Upper Angwa area, which have been found to be a quality source rock with a total organic content (TOC) of up to 10%. This suggests the potential for the generation of light oil and wet gas.

The upcoming drilling project at the Mukuyu-2 well aims to cover all prospective intervals and is scheduled to begin next month. This drilling will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the reservoirs in the area.

Invictus Energy Limited's Managing Director, Scott Macmillan, is enthusiastic about these findings. He stated that the mudgas samples have not only confirmed the presence of multiple hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs in the Mukuyu-1 area but have also validated the company's basin and geological models of the Cabora Bassa project. The results indicate that there is a working petroleum system in this frontier basin.

The success of Mukuyu-1 and Invictus Energy Limited's exclusive position in the Cabora Bassa basin are promising signs for future exploration endeavors. The company plans to explore the Pebbly Arkose and Dande Formation reservoirs in future drilling activities, with the Mukuyu-2 well being the next step in this process. The well is scheduled to be drilled in September.

Overall, these findings are significant for Invictus Energy Limited and highlight the potential for valuable hydrocarbon resources in the Cabora Bassa Project in Zimbabwe.
