Why is Winsome Resources conducting an airborne survey at the Adina Project?

Post image

Lithium exploration and development company Winsome Resources has begun a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over its Adina Project in the James Bay region of Quebec, Canada. The survey aims to provide detailed information about the sub-surface geology and structural controls of the project area, specifically the Adina Main Zone and its link to other mineralized occurrences.

What information does the survey aim to gather?

The high-resolution magnetic data collected during the survey will offer a better understanding of the geological features and structures beneath the surface. This will help in building a comprehensive geological model for the project, including identifying potential faults that could influence mineralization. Furthermore, radiometric data will be collected to detect large pegmatite outcrops, which can contain valuable lithium mineralization.

How will the survey benefit Winsome Resources?

The survey will provide valuable insights that weren't previously accessible due to sand cover and overgrowth. By analyzing the collected data, Winsome Resources can identify diagnostic features that may indicate additional mineralization targets throughout the Adina Project.

This will be particularly useful for their recently acquired Jackpot property, where initial field work is scheduled to commence soon.

What is the methodology of the survey?

Prospectair Geosurveys will conduct the survey using a Eurocopter EC120 helicopter. Data will be collected with a 50-meter spacing between flight lines, and tie lines will be flown at 500-meter intervals. The close spacing is important to accurately detect exposed pegmatite outcrops, which are often obscured by vegetation. Additionally, previous ground gravity data and new data from the ongoing survey will be analyzed to identify potential targets for further evaluation through field mapping and drilling.

Who is involved in the interpretation of the survey data?

Perth-based consultancy NewGenGeo Pty Ltd is responsible for interpreting the gravity data collected during the survey and generating target locations. Their expertise in geophysics applied to pegmatite exploration makes them well-suited to provide valuable insights. However, due to a recent fire emergency in the area around Adina, the collection of gravity data has been temporarily paused.

What are the expectations for the survey results?

Winsome Resources is hopeful that the airborne survey will help identify promising drilling targets beyond the known mineralized areas at Adina. The company looks forward to analyzing the survey results to potentially discover additional pegmatite swarms, building on the recent discovery of the Footwall Zone. These findings will contribute to the continued development and progress of the Adina lithium project.
