Why Sayona Mining Limited is Generating Buzz with New High-Grade Zones?
North American lithium producer Sayona Mining Limited recently announced new drilling results from its North American Lithium (NAL) operation that have caught the attention of experts and investors alike. These results have the potential to significantly increase the current resource estimate for hard rock lithium production in North America.
Highlights of the Drillholes
During the latest drilling campaign, a total of 14,350 meters were drilled across 57 drillholes. Several high-grade lithium intercepts were encountered, including the following:
Hole LAN-23-015a: 30. 04 meters at 1. 22% Li2O from a depth of 132. 12 meters Hole LAN-23-017: 26.

New High-Grade Zones Discovered
The drilling results have revealed the presence of new high-grade lithium pegmatite mineralized zones located in the north-west extensions of the NAL mine. Importantly, these zones are located outside the current pit shell defined by the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). This discovery highlights the potential for further resource conversion and expansion.
Continuity and Consistency within the DFS Pit Shell
While the focus has been on the new high-grade zones, the lithium mineralization found within the DFS pit shell has also displayed continuity and consistency in terms of grade and thickness. This is an encouraging sign for potential resource conversion within the existing pit shell, as well as for exploration below it.
Potential for Resource Upgrade
With these recent drilling results, Sayona Mining Limited anticipates the possibility of a resource upgrade at the NAL operation. As the largest source of hard rock lithium production in North America, this upgrade could have significant implications for the company and the lithium market as a whole.
Ongoing Drilling Campaign
Sayona is not slowing down in its quest to expand its hard rock lithium resource base. Assay results for an additional 152 holes, covering a total depth of 43,500 meters, are currently pending. These results will provide further insight into the potential of the NAL operation and its contribution to the battery and electric vehicle revolution.
Commitment to Stakeholder Engagement
Sayona Mining Limited is committed to engaging with local communities, including First Nations and other local members, to ensure the responsible and sustainable development of the NAL operation. The company's proactive stakeholder engagement approach aims to achieve industry best practices.
Optimistic Outlook
James Brown, Sayona's interim CEO, expressed his excitement about the recent drilling results. He highlighted the potential for a resource upgrade and emphasized the importance of the NAL operation for meeting the growing demand for high-grade lithium in the battery and electric vehicle sectors.
As the assay results from the remaining drillholes are unveiled, the industry eagerly anticipates the next chapter in NAL's development. Sayona Mining Limited continues to advance its production ramp-up at NAL and is dedicated to shaping a sustainable lithium future.
