This isn’t just Apple Card financing, this requires any financing to be with a connected carrier. Apple was probably getting complaints from the carriers for offering their own financing options… Which sucks, because any carrier financed device will be locked, whereas the Apple financing wouldn’t be.

Also casually dropped at the end, Apple Watch is moving from a 24 month payment plan to a 12-month. I have to wonder if Goldman Sachs got left holding the bag on too many scammers.

Apple is definitely not putting the customer first here. Very unfriendly policy for those of us who prefer not to use one of those three carriers.

I did it. While it’s dumb to not have apple wallet support (hopefully they will fix this) I was shocked that it actually onboarded pretty easily and it actually worked.

They shoulda made it a toggle - slow performance for better battery life. Most people probably would have turned it on but the choice of the user was the key.
