I want to see the cable amperage limitations. If using a Tesla cable bumps CPE250 chargers from 200 amps to 300 or even 350 amps it would make those chargers so much more useful!

Vandilx 1y

Well, I've had some fun adventures with my CHAdeMO adapter at Chargepoint DC Fast Chargers. It will be good to leave the adapter in the box some day and just be able to use NACS.

I like how a group of people in a room can make the Tesla standard, it can be better than industry wide committees by a mile, and then the industry wide committee has to certify that standard under their brand to make it legitimate to their ‘200,000 engineers and technicians’.

Fooknprawn 1y

SAE sounds a little butthurt that Tesla designed a better connector by throwing shade about the "standard" wording. Tesla turns out they were right about their definition of "standard"

* Ford * GM * Rivian * Volvo * Polestar Though, as I understand it, Polestar is basically Volvo, so this was likely going to happen once Volvo came over...

Threelargebears 1y

I rented a polestar a while ago. Really liked it. Does a lot of things better than Tesla, and a lot of things worse. I'd consider it for my next car if they can use the supercharger network

That tail light looks worse and worse with every video and picture.

Themisunderstoodfu 1y

If I’m not mistaken, General Motors already did this with their trucks, but nobody cared to pay for it.

Lmao it looks like one of those sinks u see at dog grooming stations

That's the first non-American company. Feels like now all the dominos will fall.

Self-Assembled 1y

I think one of the biggest aspects of this is that no one will want to buy a car without NACS starting NOW. So for the next two years other manufacturers will have trouble selling.

Freakin hate dealerships…

Here’s the thing: Louisianaians (sp?) are getting Teslas from somewhere because the Supercharger was PACKED in NOLA the other day by locals. That’s just leaving tax money on the table.

Realistic-Spend7096 1y

If you like Tesla or not, I am glad they are an American company.

Terminatortubman 1y

I never understood why Tesla didn’t lean hard into the whole “american made” thing. Put it on the website, do something to call it out!
